Mac Ayres debut album is a smooth soul, R&b jazz piece that showcases Mac’s talents through and through. A perfect example of the happy marriage between jazz and soul, “Roses” includes support from Jack Dine and singer/saxophonist Braxton Cook. “Roses”, is indeed my go to track off of Something to Feel. Granted, I have listened to the album in its entirety, and I am fond of other songs as well, but “Roses” keeps calling me back. I am currently drawn to Mac’s falsetto on the bridge and the gentle melodic transition during the outro. I truly feel something when I listen to “Roses”. Also, it is a perfect cuffing season jam if you ask me. So there’t that.
